Water Service Test

A water services is a test carried out to establish the integrity of the water service pipes and if there are leaks in the mains water pipe entering the house.

The test involves turning the main water stop cock off and connecting a pressure gauge to the pipe and administering approximately 3 Bar of pressure. If the pressure on the gauge drops this indicates a leak in the water pipe.

The disadvantage to this test is if the water service stop cock can not be turned off completely, hence the test maybe inconclusive.
